349 new members have joined BSNLEU in Tamil Nadu circle. Most of them are from NFTE union. The district wise break up figures are as follows:-

237 new members have joined BSNLEU at Lucknow in the month of July. Similarly 29 new members have joined BSNLEU in ETR District Union of Odisha circle. In Chittorgarh SSA of Rajasthan circle, 9 new members have joined BSNLEU. CHQ greets all the new members and welcomes them into BSNLEU.

Medical payment on revised pay

Medical payment for outdoor treatment, with and without voucher, based on Revised Pay, is approved by the Management Committee. Now this will be put up for the approval of BSNL Board. This is as per the agreement reached in the last National Council meeting. CHQ will ensure early issue of the order.

No increase of IDA w.e.f. 1st July 2011

According to the CPI released by the Labour Bureau there is no increase in the Cost of Living Index and hence there will be no increase in IDA w.e.f. 1st July 2011. It is applicable for the revised as well as pre-revised scales.

Through out the country, the cost of all essential commodities are increasing substantially. Then how there is no increase in cost of living index? Is there any manipulation ?

High Court rejects BSNL petitions on PF coverage to employees

The Madras High Court, on Thursday, dismissed the writ petitions by state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, challenging an order of the Regional Provident Fund (RPF) Commissioner on PF coverage of BSNL employees. The court rejected the public sector telecom firm's stand that pre-induction training could not be considered for the purpose of EPF (Employment Provident Fund) Act. The RPF Commissioner had directed BSNL that Junior Telecom Officers (JTO) or Junior Accounts Officers (JAO) and other similarly placed employees, be made members of Employees Provident Fund and other schemes from the date on which they joined or reported for their pre-induction training.
